Yes there are. When Keith Olbermann and a few other deep pocket collectors start going gang busters after signed runs 1952 to about 1990 or so bidding got crazy. This culminated when Collect auctions sold off a huge run missing only a dozen or so cards from the 60s to the 90s I believe it was.

There has been a few people who have taken up the task of complete signed sets however, I don't really see a lot of the spirited bidding a decade or so ago. That being said HOF rcs have really skyrocketed whereas many others, particularly thr easier ttm guys, have stagnated or gone down.

I do think, same with coins, eventually, and more so since the advent of ebay, collectors will seek out more challenging aspects of collecting. A signed set would be the most difficult option.
