THank you every one for all of your replies.
Much appreciated, as my son is starting out with his collection branching out to retired hall of fame players, he really seems set on Mays, Aaron and Jackie, really wish he let me know that Clemente wasn't his cup of tea before completing this run but oh well live and learn i guess. |

Another angle to consider is that your son's collection focus could shift many times between now and when you decide to pass your collection down to him.
Would be a shame to sell/trade your collection for cards that you are less interested in, come to find out in 5-10 yrs your son now collects a different era or players or sport altogether. This is your collection, collect what makes you happy. I'm sure when the time comes, your son will be happy to cherish his dad's Clemente collection knowing how much the cards meant to you. Just a thought, good luck with your decision! ![]()

kev2xx----- I honestly think you should keep and enjoy your Roberto Clemente card run. You worked fairly hard to build it. As your son watches you admire your Clemente cards, he just might get curious.......
As others have stated, right now he is interested in Say Hey, Hammerin' Hank, and Mr. Robinson. All great choices. Speaking from experience, having collected off and on since 1961, I've collected and concentrated on numerous players, sometimes for a couple years, sometimes for several decades. If he's interested in baseball history, he'll probably vacillate or choose some others over the course of his collecting life. It's all good, usually. You love collecting Clemente. Man, don't sell that away. You are fortunate to have a son who likes collecting vintage baseball cards, just as his dad. ![]() |

Not totally responsive to the thread, but this book about Clemente can turn almost anyone into a fan. You could buy your son the book for $11 and then decide whether to sell your collection after he's read it! |

If you do not feel comfortable listing them yourself on the BST board or on social media, I'd look at using Sterling Sports auctions or an eBay consigner like 4SC or Greg Morris.
Don't sell as a lot ... if there is a buyer or two, they're looking at resale. If your son is collecting, which is great, ask him to pick one or two Clemente's and add it to his collection. He's going to want a Clemente at some point.
