Re: Fleer GOTG. Schmidt and Yount are definitely two of the tougher ones. I started building the set a couple of years ago and got most of the SP's, though I hit a bit of a wall on it, and have not decided whether to continue. I do have those two actually. Gotta decide if I'm ready to let them go and if so, happy to discuss. Last edited by Topnotchsy; 04-10-2025 at 10:43 AM. |

is it safe to say that psa slabs with the gem mt 10 label are preferred more by the hobby?

I personally dont like grading especially the difference between a 5 and 6 or 6 and 7 etc is so subjective and different graders will disagree. I know it can make a big difference in value but I just want a nice conditioned card and autograph. Couldn't carfe iof graded or not

My thoughts are, will these be popular in 20,30, 40 years, what I mean for example, in 30 years will new collectors, want a signed 1987 topps barry larkin? a 1987 topps signed fred mcgriff? a 1989 topps signed john smoltz? a 1993 topps trevor hoffman? They will probably want a signed rookie card of shohei ohtani, but will they really want a signed topps rookie card of jeff bagwell, craig biggio, harold baines or tim raines? (I know, collect what I like, i Get it! I understand it.... but that wasnt my question!)

I think HOF signed rookies, and signed cards in general, have demonstrated their staying power. I’m not worried about the ones I have in my collection; I just wish I had been more aggressive when prices were lower.
