In 1947, in order to minimize the issues of racism and discrimination, the Dodgers held Spring Training in Havana, Cuba. The Major League team went to Cuba along with the AAA Montreal Royals who Jackie Robinson was a member of. Accompanying him was Roy Campanella, who had been promoted to the Montreal Royals and would spend the 1947 season there.
This ball was signed by the 1947 Montreal Royals team. It is signed by both Robinson and Campanella, and is a rare example of a place where they signed on the same panel (right near each other).
I don't know of any items (other than a photo from the Cuban trip) which are from a date so close to April 15, 1947 when Jackie broke the Major League color barrier.
