Except for the sudden 'relevance' diminishment seen in his last 4 posts, Scott probably has one of the highest ratio of quality posts on this forum. I would have about 1000 posts too, if I could just keep my attempts at humor at bay. I still think I attain a 20-25% usefulness/helpful/semi-interesting posting ratio.

Brian (I obviously think rather highly about the beneficial nature of my posts)

right this was addressed as slugging percentage....some have mostly singles 'nice cards' like ichiro...others have a lot more power and a much higher posting slugging percentage....

however the number of 5000 plus posters is still pretty small so to be a member of the 5000 hit club there is no discrimination as to lack of slugging percentage or other methodology...

5000 posts is an elite club. 29000 posts is more elite, only rivaled by the Archive Bros.... Every time I say Archive I think of Dorskind.

I like the fact that the Bruces are Archived. Not that I am glad he passed away, just that 'their' presence on the board is in the past tense...man, no one else's attitude on this board got under my skin like the Bruces.

Thankfully since the original post almost two years ago, I was able to lay the 5k golden egg, which of course has secured my lofty position within this community, and therefore so shall this be my last post in this thread.

The post count did not carry over. This was all new s/w and all of the users were "Archive" and "Archive2" when carried over here. The user names were under the Archive brothers but they were the users. That is why we all have a long ways to go to catch the Archives in post counts.

Wow that is a lot of post congrats.

But Leon just realized you have a little more than 5k.

Just curious is there a leader board for your long term members for us rookies to see

I feel like I've seen a way to sort members by post count, but I can't recall it off the top of my head.

At my current pace, I should hit 5,000 posts sometime in 2039. Now 5,000 useful posts will take a bit longer.

Edit: Community>Members List>Search Members>Advanced Search>Enter 5,000 in 'Post count greater than or equal to'; resulting list yields 37 members. Though it doesn't order them or list their post totals.

Absolutely amazed how many posts many people have made.

I just checked and I will join that group in approx 3 years 2 months and 3 weeks.

That is a long time so amazed how long and active many people have been.

With this post I am only 4 posts behind Scott. Perhaps if I ran an auction company like he does I would have an excuse to boost my post count into a more numerically superior position.

So thus I am officially announcing my new vintage sports card auction company. It will be named "Win and Pay Promptly." I am still working on the business model for this.

You need to up that 1.6 posts a day and it won't take as long.

I see this makes 7999 for me with a average of 2.4 per day for a long time. This place is part of the hobby.

I agree I would need to pickup the pace. But I want to contribute quality posts and encouraging posts. Not posts to pad a #. Functional vs Compliance.

Maybe ... I've been around since before the last major site change (and introduction of 'Archive' ) like maybe sometime in '07-08 originally, but my posting has been sporadic at best. 5000 is a pipe dream.

It's time to establish the brand new advanced stat of PEBL (Posts Excluding Bump Lingo).

If the number of 'bumps' (and other ways of bumping a thread) were eliminated from my count, I'd probably be down to around 150 total posts...and I ain't alone.

Do you have a lot of 'ballast' in your post count number? Figure it out with PEBL.

I think it's a comment on our sad lives. Hahaha.

I'm curious if there is a way to count posts that I typed then deleted before hitting submit. As opinionated as I can sometimes be, I frequently am the only one who sees my thoughts in print.

I'm afraid most of my posts end up looking, in one fashion or another, like I have Mono or something:

Do you have a lot of 'ballast' in your post count number? Figure it out with PEBL.

It'd be cool of there was a Net54 equivalent to WAR, calculated on number of posts and amount of knowledge / common sense / intelligence contained within minus the amount of cluelessness / ignorance / idiocy. Maybe call it VIRTUE: Value In Relation To the Under Educated.

Leon, does the guy on the far left with the long bamboo fishing pole, something he would have adored, look like Rube Wadell or what. Posted this to get my count up, although I am still playing AA ball.

I just hit ten years here last month, and this is my 1,841st post. At that rate, I should reach 5,000 posts sometime around 2042.
