A fresh collection of T206 was just consigned

Not so much value, but I was given a bunch of items from a person recently that preserved his baseball story that I wanted to keep alive after his passing. Much of it was 70+ years old. I think items will still be found, and uncovered in different ways.

I do know he had some very expensive or wanted items from collectors his family is still in possession of. Most from teammates of his or friends from the majors. He played in the 40s and 50s.

The cards are amazing! That said, can anyone say a single card in that find will grade an 8? I say this not to take anything away from the spectacular nature of this find. Rather, I mention it to pose the question where all those 8s and 9s we constantly see turning up in auctions and card shows came from, except other than the cutting board of a card doctor?

Hard to tell from the photos but that second bat off looks pretty good , I think it could help their value if they can add to the flip “so and so find” or “so and so estate” - I know that doesn’t mean anything to some collectors but might add an air of originality

At least his grandchildren had the awareness not to offer these up at a garage sale.

There is a bunch of stuff still out there. I purchased this Willie Mays game used bat a couple of years ago from the friend of a former Pirates batboy. It was cracked in a game at Forbes Field.
