I have collected mostly Reds, but I get bored and redirect.

Right now my wife wants me to cut way way back on collecting since our kids are at that age where they cost a lot of money due to sports, growing out of clothes, etc. So now I'm trying to move to cheaper items. I don't want to collect base cards, boring. I'm thinking I will collect Griffey relic cards. They are still relatively cheap.

Tris Speaker (but sold off many items)
Ernie Lombardi
Lou Gehrig
Stan Musial
Barry Larkin
Joey Votto
Ken Griffey Jr

I really think the 1939 season and it's connection to the HOF is cool.

The second greatest closer of all time. He'd also be in the Hall were it not for rampant and widespread bias against the 86 Mets.

Like a lot of other people on the board, I collect Babe Ruth and to a lesser extent, Lou Gehrig. I used to be a set collector but I just found that I never looked at the commons, even though the money I spent on them really added up. I just really enjoyed looking at the Ruth and Gehrig cards the most, which was why I settled on collecting them.

I collect playing years Jackie Robinson, with a focus on on completing the Bond Bread(tough task) set of his in PSA graded examples. It's the long term project for me. I am hoping to add the Old Golds, New York journal as
well. Unfortunately last night his 1943-48 Parade Sportive got out of range for me.

Default Cuban Baseball Cards

I was born in Cuba. So not surprisingly I collect Cuban baseball cards and cards of Cuban players. Upon arriving in the US as a young boy, I found baseball as the one thing that bridged my prior life in Cuba and my new life in the US. I remember fondly watching the 1975 world series which turned me into a Red Sox fan. My first baseball card collection focus mainly on Red Sox cards. Ted Williams and Carl Yastrzemski where my heroes. In the 1990s as a baseball card dealer I began to focus on cards of Cuban baseball players. At the end of the decade I discovered cards produced in Cuba. Soon that became the main focus of my collecting. Today I am working on cataloging every single 20th century baseball card issued for a Cuban born baseball player and every single Cuban issued baseball card.

1. Carl Yastrzemski. Anyone got that Yaz for Mayor card?

2. Mike Greenwell.

3. Heinie Wagner. "The other" Wagner (and much cheaper).

4. Sammy White.

I have a couple of player collections: Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, Red Schoendienst, and Albert Pujols.

I also started a Bill Terry PC. My dad was named after him.

And I have slowly started player runs of former Negro Leaguers, including Jackie Robinson, Roy Campenella, Larry Doby, Jim Gilliam, Monte Irvin, Luke Easter

Whitey Glazner. I picked up a (probably) unique Glazner card many years ago and decided I was then in a good position to put together the world's best Whitey Glazner collection.

Tigers

Team sets of popular issues (or when I can afford the Cobb )

Also try for type sets of Tigers.

I collect the Yankees. I'm a New Yorker and my family has always been a Yankees family. My uncle loved the Mets but I think it was mostly to annoy my dad when they were growing up.

Always on the lookout for esoteric Yankees items:

My collection is all over the place but I probably have more Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins stuff than anything else.
