Picked up an Al Lopez R314 horizontal waist-up throwing catcher's pose to complete my mini-subset of R314 horizontal waist-up throwing catcher's poses, with the Virgil Davis, Ernie Lombardi and Rabbit Pytlak the other examples already residing within my mini-subset collection of R314 horizontal waist-up throwing catcher's poses quartet.

Brian (admit it, these are cool!)

I'm in day four of five sea days returning from Hawaii when I see BrianP's clever introduction of his mini-subset of R314 cards. I'm thinking: "Brian's idea is so clever, it deserves an imitator. What mini-subset do I have?"

Turns out I have one. But, it was not obtained this month. Hence, a new thread. Without further delay, in homage to Brian's creativity, I offer my mini-subset of OJ Washington players with hands on knees -- the one hand on each knee division:

(Edited to say: "Oh, well. I thought it was a new thread.

Leon, love that D359! I’ve been trying to find a decent looking HOFer for a while. I missed a raw one on eBay recently, but sure ran it up! One of these days.

I’m super happy to add a E95 Merkle. I’ve always liked this card from afar, but never really thought about buying one as I usually go for portraits when buying non T206 cards. This is the first E95 Merkle I’ve seen in person and is much cooler than the pics I’ve seen online over the years.

Random raw stack grows! Also, accidentally 8% done with the E95 set!

Great stuff this month you all,
Bob

I picked up the blue-black variation to go with a couple of others. Looked nicer than the grade, to my eye.

I have never seen a Greenberg in red or green, despite what Old Cardboard says about the variants. My guess is they don't exist? Anyone have one in green or red?

Nice Greenberg Batter-Up cards. Only card #'s 1-40 were printed with the red and green tints, something that was only brought to light in the hobby because of this great Net54 thread and a lot of input from members:

Thanks on the Merkle Bill, I’m agreeing!

Josh, enjoy the Young, he will be missed from my box, but I knew you would enjoy it as much as I did. Thanks for helping me upgrade my McGraw Port back and a couple other fun front back combos including another P42 HOFer, Hindu and a Coupon Type 1.

My wife also gave me some random goodies for Valentines Day! Her first purchase to support my addiction! B18 Stengel, Ted Williams shotgun shell and a couple fun Diamond Matchbook guys.

Happy Saturday,
Bob

Leon, I'm curious. Hope you don't mind my asking, what % of your current collection are recoveries from your first collection?

Hey Val
As far as what I have now, vs what have now And used to own, I would guess only around 4% to 5%, is what I used to own. That is on individual cards. The value of those might be closer to 10%...

I put a snipe in but was way low. I was concerned about them coming out without too much back damage. There was good upside if they can be safely removed without that damage, no doubt.

Thanks Sam

There are so many great board members who have great and diverse collections that I hope we all keep collecting and keep sharing.

This I am hoping to keep in my long term collection unless something over the top comes up
