Finally crossed this tough one off my list, with advice from Rob and Rob about what to do and what to not do, I went ahead and cleaned it. It was even more browned/yellowed in person than my original iphone picture made it look. I put it face down on some towels and sprayed with with a solution of maybe 25% bleach and 75% water. I blocked off the spine with some plastic. That left a bit of yellowing near the spine. I then used a small paint brush to apply some of the bleach/water mixture up near the spine. It did not come quite as clean as ones that can take a more concentrated bleach spray, but the red on this one is so ready to run. When I was using the brush to touch up on the front, I got just a bit of the solution in the red paint and it ran immediately. So spraying from the back is the way to go if you ever want to try this yourself on a pennant with red graphics.

Nice job Mark...Looks great. With those 60s red graphics, the top layer of paint is just dying to (no pun intended) slough off so they should always be hit from the back...on towels to absorb any excess bleed thru.
The good news is it does wash away nicely as long as you rinse it immediately...and the bleeding stops once that layer if off.

Yeah, great job, Marc. The red makes the process scary. The blue tassels on that pennant always seem to be badly faded.

Those could easily be dyed. Much easier than the bleaching process.

That’s great. Purple? Brown? Either way, the green tassels are crazy.

Two more minor leagues … the KC Blues is a full-size BF3, these are rare for majors, and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen another from the IL or AA or PCL. But I have seen the tiny ones. I think there’s a full-size BF3 collector who lurks around here … does anyone have or know of any other minor league versions?

I think it may have been derived from the Hassan cigarette “Oh, you _____” pins of the same era. Oh, you Electrics.
