Stubby Magner

At 5’3” Stubby is the shortest person to have played a fielding position in Major League Baseball (along with Yo-Yo Davalillio), and the second smallest player in major league baseball history. The shortest player on record being 43-inch Eddie Gaedel. Stubby Magner was the Captain of the 1911 Cornell baseball team AND hockey team. Not only a great baseball shortstop, he captained the Cornell hockey team to an undefeated season in 1911 (10-0). After graduating, he played baseball for the New York Highlanders (Yankees) in 1911 - appeared in 13 games, playing short-stop and second base, had 7 hits in 33 at bats, 3 runs, 4 RBI, and 1 stolen base.
