Hard to understand how Ichiro wasn't unanimous.

This said, I think the attention on unanimity gives too much mindshare and airtime to a small group (in this case, a small group of one) of attention-seeking, probably personally aggrieved, HOF voters who are voting on a set of criteria that only he or she can explain or understand.

It will be interesting to see if the one voter is willing to make his ballot public and explain/defend it. I'm guessing no.

Nobody except Rivera has ever been unanimous. Just an empty ritual.
