My new wax packs that I have added to my inventory on Dec. 20, 2024 include:

9 and 10 – 1940 Play Ball Baseball

11 and 12 – 1941 Double Play Baseball

13 – 1950 Bowman Baseball 1 cent

14 – 1955 Topps Baseball 1 cent

15 – 1964/65 Topps Hockey

After a very successful National, I have stayed quiet for a while. It's likely I will not add any more packs to my inventory until April or May even though

By the way, I have just started buying and selling one cent wax packs from pre 1970 for all sports and non sports. Yes, I have bought some in the past (I probably own 100+ such packs) but never really collected them. Since most if not all of 1930s and 1940s packs are 1 cent anyway, I decided to focus on pre 1970 as I do so with my other packs. Prior to this year's National, I will update my for sale list to add the 1 cent packs I have for sale. This current list I added a 1955 Topps and 1950 Bowman 1 cent pack. Watch for my next list.

Guaranteed not to be CT scanned?

I had heard about it before, but I just read that latest article about scanning the insides of some packs. Where there is money to be made, there are always ways to try to beat the system.

Now I know that some have asked why I can't identify the player that is showing on the front or back of some of my 1930s/1940s packs. Truthfully, I really can't see the players or their numbers, not that I haven't tried to see them. These are 70 to 90 year old packs; Other than scanning per the article, it's near inpossible to identify the player. But what I really question is how the grading companies can see through the wrappers to identify players that they supposedly see on the front or the rear. I estimate that I can see the players on pre 1970 packs in like less than 5% of the time. Maybe I just don't try hard enough; stop by my booth at this year's National and let's see if you can spot who is showing. You can look at any of my packs to do so.

It’s usually not difficult to identify the card in most of those 1930’s wrappers. The wrappers are generally tissue thin and quite easy to see through. I saw this relatively low quality cell phone photo of your National Chicle Football pack from the 2024 National and it took about 3 minutes to figure out the player. As much time as you spend with the packs, I really can’t think of a good reason to say you can’t tell.

I still can’t see what you see but that’s the point - unless it’s very obvious, I don’t really try too hard to identify the player. But since you have a keen eye, if you or anyone else can identify players for any of my packs, and I can verify that I see it as well, I will update my for sale list to indicate that information. Which player is in the National Chicle pack? Thanks,

Yeah, just gotta take what the pack gives you. Sometimes it’s a lot, other times it’s not. This is #12 Tom Hupke.

Amazing deduction. But the fact remains that without an actual set of National Chicle cards, it would be near impossible to determine which card this was. I can't just look at the backs and fronts and conclude which player this is. But after looking at what you pointed out, you are clearly correct which player it is.
When I retrieve all of my packs from storage, I will check to see if I still own that particular pack; I did sell one National Chicle pack and I still have two left to sell -- as I picked up one in my last batch of 15 new unopened wax packs.

Yes, I would think with a very strong high power light, you might be able to make out the card
