Day 359 – 24 December 2024
Nothing special today as I am sure everyone has seen or owns one of these. First, I am showing you a larger version of the Norman Rockwell Print signed by Brooks Robinson. Brooks actually owned the original. Research the story. It was quite the ordeal for his family. I am also showing you an oversized poster of the 1993 Baltimore Orioles WS Champions (1966) Reunion Show. This poster is signed by each of the starting everyday players. It is also signed by many of the pitchers. |

Day 360 – 25 December 2024
Merry Christmas! Can’t believe Christmas has arrived. Today, in honor of my favorite holiday, I thought I would share some of my Baltimore Orioles Christmas Cards. The first one I had framed. I am not exactly sure what year it is but it is early 1960s. It references “Steve winning 20 games,” which he did in 1963 so I put this one as 1963. It is a letter to Santa. I believe this is Steve Barber (Orioles first 20 game winner). The next framed card has the Oriole bird beat up. This one is early 1960s, too. I should have taken a photo of the inside. I also had my “It can be done in ’61” Christmas card framed. I guess this one is 1961. I have a couple others from the 1960s unframed (A miracle on 33rd Street ‘Almost’ from 1960 and a1969 Photo version. Included are a few others from the 1970s – 2000s. I need to do a better job tracking these with a checklist. Always looking for more. Please show your cards. Merry Christmas!!!🎁🎄 |

Day 361 - 26 December 2024
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and found something new in their stocking related to Brooksie! Today I am showing you a Crystal Radio Kit adorned with the image of a couple Baltimore legends. Brooks Robinson and Johnny Unitas are on the box cover. Not sure about the basketball player and race care people. The radio kit includes the items needed to put it together and the instructions. This is not my thing but I wonder if it would work. The contents seem to all be there. I put the box in the 1970s but not really sure. Last edited by Chstrite; 12-26-2024 at 09:39 PM. |

Day 362 – 27December 2024
I meant to share these earlier but today I am showing you two items from what I believe is the early 1970s. First, I have a pair of game worn pants from 1970 season worn by who I think is Jim Frey, the former Orioles hitting coach (1970-1979); he later had success with the KC Royals and Chicago Cubs as manager. If you look closely in the waistline, you see number 41 and a F, which was Frey’s number and believe his first initial last name. The bright orange pants are from 1970 when we had our four 20-game winners and won the World Series. The size is 34. Not sure what the 73 M16 means. I really like the Brooks Robinson Sporting Goods Label. I am not sure the belt is part of the uniform. Next, I have what I understand as a prototype uniform that belonged to Brooks Robinson. The pants are of a salmon color. Size 36 with a lable that says 5 15 then hand written has PT 65. I assume the 5 is for Brooks and PT is prototype. They are signed by Brooks Robinson. I am sure someone on here can comment about both sets of pants. Very interested in the details on the prototype colored pants. |

Day 363 – 28 December 2024
I recently completed another Set Brooks Robinson set he appeared in, which is the 1972 Pro Star Canadian. The set can be divided into a trio of 12 card sets plus the check list. The American League included 12 players including Brooks. The National League included 12 players. The Montreal Expos had 12 players, too. The Expos include the great Ken Singleton. The set comes with a checklist and a sleeve. The cards are in a post card format measuring 3.5 X 5.5 printed in Canada with a blank back, color player photo with players name in lower white border. The card included a facsimile auto. The set includes plenty of HoF’ers (Brooks, Frank Robinson, Aaron, Bench, Clemente, Marichal, Mays, McCovey, Rose, Seaver, Stargell, Jackson, Kaline, and Killebrew. The Vida Blue was my hardest card to find. All of the cards to include the checklist and an example of the red sleeve, are pictured. I have the Expos cards (12 each) but not pictured. |
