https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...ll-card-theft/

The other stolen items included 14 rare 1914 Cracker Jack cards, numerous T206 tobacco cards, several 1911-14 Brunner’s Bread cards, early Exhibits and high-grade cards of Mickey Mantle and Roberto Clemente, among others. SC Daily has learned that the 52 cards that were recovered will be sent back to the company next week. Collectors who won those lots and opted to wait for their recovery will then receive them.

Early Christmas gift for those card winners.

Phew, 4-6 years is some hard time for a theft, but not giving up the location of the buyer/holder of the 2 missing cards will not help you at sentencing time.

What was the value of the 2 cards still missing. This may seem weird to many on here who have had a way better than average life. Maybe he is trading doing a little time with free room and board for the cash(from the 2 cards) he will spend living like a rock star for a year or less. 4-6 years means he will be out in 2 years at most depending on priors. From what I hear jail is only scary/bad if you have never experienced it before. I know I have several "friends" from childhood that would and have done 2+ years for way less cash than most on here make in a year.

If dude is willing to do years for 90K he's got more issues than a need for 90K.

Given that most people without hookups to sell cards like this will have to settle for 1/2 to 2/3rd of value at best it's an even worse tradeoff.

He was going to do time anyway, but when it comes time to sentence someone who won't come clean on the rest of a missing haul, you're rarely catching a break.

Part of the sentence was also restitution of almost $90k for the 2 missing cards. Now whether that is collectable or not, I don't know.
