Hobby wish: That our cardboard pastime wasn't rife with scumbaggery and that my title to the Benjamin Falk Matty cabinet was not clouded by the fact that it was stolen from the Hall of Fame.

Real-life wish: A cure for Alzheimer's.

Even the richiest of rich-niks can not afford some cards on folk's wish lists (such as Val's), because either these cards possibly are not currently known to exist, or are buried in collections so deep it would take a cardboard excavation crew multiple overtime shifts to bring them to the surface.

E300 Plow’s Candy Hal Chase. I’ve never even seen a scan of it. The last card I’d collect if I could find it.

I meant it as sarcasm—of course it is a tough time for many. Honestly we are all fortunate to have funds for the vintage hobby, regardless of how much those funds are

My unrealistic, never-will-happen card wish would be something like a high grade D304 Christy Mathewson, or '68 Topps Test 3D Clemente.

My realistic, need to get done list would include finishing my 1972, 1959, and 1956 Topps sets, the '62 Green Tints, the '73 Kellogg's set - and making a lot more progress on my postwar Cubs run (where I'm trying to get every Bowman and Topps card up to 1980).

World peace, sane US politics with compromise, etc. etc. - yes of course all welcome.

Anything sports related: I'll take a Jim Creighton uniform with unimpeachable provenance.

Or maybe to be nine years old again and opening packs of 50 cent Topps product. Which is why we all do this anyway.

More realistically: N162 Anson. Maybe the prettiest card of the 19th century.

non-baseball collectible: either a 1949 modded Cadillac or Buick fastback

Baseball card wise: a non-slabbed 1959 Topps Baseball complete set in vg/ex condition

I hope that many of you will be able to fulfill your wish; if that comes to fruition, happy collecting on a smallish scale.

Phil aka Tere1071

Currently working on:

1967 Topps Baseball 532/533, missing 430 Rose
1968 Topps Baseball 597/598, missing 490 Super Stars
1969 Topps Baseball 662/664, missing 500 Mantle & 533 Ryan
