Default outbid

At least once every few months if not more, I get outbid on something I really need (autograph) by 1 bid, only to find it a few weeks later being flipped on ebay for 2-3x what they paid- which I refuse to pay. More and more buyers seem to be flipping items.
Does that happen to you. It can be quite annoying. if it went to another collector, I'd be fine but just to a flipper- not very happy

Default Outbid

Go to card shows now a days. All it is is vednors trying to buy up other vendors items and double the price at their tables. I get trying to make money for sure but it does get annoying.

Yep. The best is when someone posts

"Been looking for this card forever " "found a new home" " just picked this up"

Then adds price

Some of These cards aren't even shipped yet from major auction houses.

Oh well, I'm biding my time until the next great reset. If I'm too old to care by then, so be it

You always seem angry? Not sure this is the right hobby for you. Maybe try taking care of yourself, get some exercise and work on yourself. Maybe a pyshcologist would help, I dunno? Whatever it is, if you continually have almost every single post be negative you won't be here much longer

Would you want someone so negative in your community? I mean, negativity is fine occasionally, but all of the time, not so good. Cheer up. You could be in Gaza or Lebanon. Those people are having issues.

Funny, I actually couldn't be more satisfied.

Collecting wise. Physically and mentally healthy. Family is good and financially on the right path.

Oh and the election didn't hurt. Not sure that had anything to due with your comment. (I know we have had a few conversations over changing my username),

However, I am tired of the bloviating, pumping, crtics and new style flippers (as this thread was about)

But I do still like the cards. Feel free to send anyone my personal information (like you did to Ken Goldin) of they want to "talk" like he did.

People have been buying to resell since anything had value. Don't let it frustrate you. I've bid on a ton of stuff in auction houses lately and only won one lot. It happens more often than not.

If any member says negative or insulting things, about a business or person, then yes, I will give out a phone number. It kind of goes with the philosophy of having your name out here.
A phone number and an email is all that is on file and you can block senders if you want to. It's not like we require that much here in order to verify identity. And you haven't broken any rules or anything, you just seem like you are always negative. Happy collecting!

edited to add. That was an extraordinary case with Ken. Phone numbers have probably been given out 3-4 times, for things like that, in the 21+ yrs I've been moderating...

Has happened to me with one vendor on ebay who shall remain nameless but they do go for a lot of the same items I am after. I used to let this exact thing happen to me a few times per year and be so pissed off about it. I've subsequently taken the stance of if I am at my max bid and would be OK paying a slight bit more long term, or will I be pissed in 2 weeks when its up on their store for 3/4x what it went for, and they don't move on price, so it's effectively lost forever. With that said, I've won 3/4 items with the one last bid, and been pretty happy I did.
