It took 3 emails sent to 3 different departments to fill out a form request for a mistake they made. I received an automated response that they're very busy and it could take longer than 5-10 days to receive a response.
My question is, do they make that many mistakes that it could take longer than 10 days to receive a response to their error? |

They grade over a million cards a month. I'm not making excuses for mistakes, but even at a very low mistake rate, that's still a lot of mistakes per month.

I sent a card in with what I thought had an incorrect label on a regular submission form requesting a re-label. I included comments on what was wrong, assuming if they didn't agree my order would be put on hold and I would be contacted.
The order was processed in the normal queue and came back much earlier than the other submissions in the same order. Maybe this was an anomaly but I was satisfied. |

Last year, I sent two cards in for fresh slabs(because they were scratched up). They sent the same exact cards back 2 months later, and still charged me. Had to fight, just to get a credit. SGC is way better ! I've had two orders fulfilled by SGC in the time I'm waiting for another reslab order to come back from PSA. They make a ton of money. The, "we're busy" excuse just doesn't fly with me.

If you follow their procedure on the website for labeling errors, the process went very efficiently for me. Two weeks door to door to get my issue corrected and back in my hands. Didn’t think they would be able to get things done that quickly but they did. So, anything is possible……

I'd like to know this as well. As I posted in another thread, I caught an error before slabbing, told them, saw no change on the site and then emailed them pictures of the very issue with the correct date. Ignored again, they then sent the pin back with the wrong date on the slab. Zero response from PSA.

I agree. More transparency into PSA's process would be helpful to everyone.

Didn’t notice their mistake until after I received the order back. In my case, they flip flopped the labels on two different Hostess panels. Just reviewing their research and ID step online, no way for me to tell that the two items were labeled backwards.

The bad news: I have to pay shipping for them to return it to me. Why should I have to pay $20 return shipping for THEIR mistake? |

Just had to send a couple of pieces back to PSA for them to fix the labels.
This detail was included in the email instructions from PSA, related to return shipping charges: "5. On Step 5 - Shipping and Billing, select "SHIP ON YOUR OWN", click on "Insured Shipping", and provide a valid payment method. Please rest assured you will not be charged for this submission, and it is simply required at this time to complete the submission in the Online Submission Center." So hopefully this applies to your label request as well.

So I think they worded it a bit inelegantly, as they appear to have conflated both subjects into a single thought, but I think it's intended to refer to shipping going back to you as well.

The two cards I had sent back to me recently, there was NO return (to me) S/H cost. It was indeed waived.

I have several from the same set they mislabeled. I sent in a request, but will most likely wait until the National next year in Chicago and just drop them off to get fixed. Since they aren't going anywhere I am in no hurry. It's frustrating but I also recognize that for the stuff I tend to collect they aren't super knowledgable with a lot of more obscure vintage stuff.

And I don't, but worry that my preferred grader, SGC, will be polluted by PSA freshman graders.

I've never seen O'Leary listed in either of the Morton's sets, 1909 or 1910. And Archer played for the Tigers last in 1907, which also makes little sense for him to be in these sets. While it could be O'Leary, does it look like him?

With the obvious assumption that a single photograph can't tell the whole story...
possible1910oleary.jpg There are similarities, no doubt, but the general shape of the head (squared vs. more oval), the closeness of the eyes and the prominence of the nasolabial folds (don't I sound smart?), as well as the size of the nose and the shape of the ears (and other factors) are off.

It's hard to tell from the grainy pic in the pin, but the ears don't match the ears of O'Leary in the pictures. Yet Archer was last on the Tigers in 1907. I think the picture is Archer but why would he be on a 1910 pin? Yet every checklist has Archer on it and not O'Leary -- who was on the 1910 team (and 1909 as well).
