I'm sure there's a good reason, but why is it so difficult for auction houses to put cards in chronological order per sport in a catalogue?

I am guessing its so that people who would normally only look at pre 1920s stuff look at 1950's stuff and vice versa. Increases the impulse bidding -- Oh, thats cool, maybe I will bid on that. Or, man, look at all these Mantles. Maybe I need a Mantle or two.

I too prefer to see all the stuff I want in the first pages (1900-1920) and then I can skip the balance of the auction items starting with the 1933 goudeys. But I will admit, leafing through the Memory Lane catalogue, I saw several interesting items that I never would have looked at if chronological.
