Amazing! Thank you for sharing this Jeff. Incredible stuff and I appreciate you sharing the backstory here. I've had a crazy past few days so I will have to go back and read the articles. Nice to see that there's stuff like this still in the wild.

Thanks for sharing and best of luck with the auction!

BTW Jeff, are you or "John" keeping any of the cards as a memento or is the entire collection being auctioned?

Thx Rob! Yes, I am keeping these 3 mementos - John is not a collector but I fully expect that he’ll come by from time to time to visit this trio!

Wow and Wow

Cool story and thanks for sharing

We will all be watching with interest and hopefully someone on this forum wins the Jackson, Ruth, and Thorpe cards.

Perhaps Leon can start taking a collection and we can by partial shares of it...Just kidding

Jeff, I'm hoping there isn't a Morehouse Baking of WaJo in your garage sale find, as I would like my raw example of this card to continue to be the only one known to exist!

Val, I don't see yours on the pop lists or a second one of my Cobb. I think we're safe with our 1/1s -- until the next find.

Jeff, congrats on having a really nice Morehouse Baking of Cobb!

"... until the next find" is so true, as I have experienced this. Three years ago, I was "crushed" when Heritage auctioned a new-to-the-hobby, near-set of 1922 Haffner's Bread cards that had been held in the same family since 1922, thereby making my raw Haffner's Bread card of WaJo no longer a 1/1 card. Sigh! https://sports.ha.com/itm/baseball-c...Results-012417

Hi Val

Your 1 of 1 status remains safe! No WaJo in this find… if he was there, I never would have let that one get to REA!

Jeff

Because you would have sold it to me in Boston!
