What years do you like to see pen vs sharpie?

The problem with pens, I find, is that they fade over time. Sharpies stay good for good. But if it's supposedly signed in the 1960s on back, I stay away from anything signed with a Sharpie. And, likewise, anything pre-war signed with a ballpoint and not a fountain pen, I will steer clear of that too.
