This new pickup just completed my Victoria Bees team set.
I'm still deciding if I should continue to collect a new team.
If I do I'll most likely pick the San Francisco Seals or Oakland Oaks.

To continue with the Canadian team theme you might, if you haven't already, consider those fellow British Columbian Vancouver Beavers cards. Both the 1910 and 1911 Obak sets contain players from the Vancouver Beavers of the Northwestern League...16 players for 1910, and 12 in the 1911 set.

Brinker, Erickson, James, Jensen, Lewis, Scharnweber and Swain are in both years, and the same artwork is used for their 1910 and 1911 cards.


Brian (of course the Seals and Oaks are great options as well, but as a warning you will have to fork out the big bucks for Buck Weaver to complete the 1911 Seals team set. For some reason he seems to be popular)

Hi Brian,

You're probably right the next team should be the Vancouver Beavers from the 1911 set. I was collecting the 1910 Vancouver Beavers but decided to focus on the 1911 because I liked the Victoria Bees which has Ten Million.

As for the Seals I recently sold a Obak Buck Weaver to fund another purchase, now regretting it. I might consider buying another Weaver If one comes up for sale again.

Kudos to you, Brad. The Victoria set is a nice bunch of players. Old Victoria baseball stuff doesn't turn up too often. I have yet to see a decent photo of the Bees' ballpark which is still in use but is mostly a modern day multi-use fustercluck with no ancient charisma whatsoever. For what it's worth imagine Ten Million roaming the outfield a century ago.
