Couple weeks later we are on a road trop to Ely, NV. As we are driving through all the small towns, I'm scoping out post offices, we stop at a couple and on the third attempt SCORE!! So I got two. That was much more fun to attach to the stamp buy then if I had just gotten them in town. Nice road trip, Hammer Stamps, and a nice little vacation in Ely. Nv. Nothing but net.... B.T.

Maybe it's just me, since I've been collecting for so long, but I keep seeing these cards graded PSA/SGC 5's and 6's, that back in the day would have been sold as Nm/Mt all day long. It makes these cards seem like the obvious type of card to purchase if you want a reasonably priced card with great eye appeal.

Maybe not all that rare, but certainly elusive.
I finally ran across a 1973 Topps Frank Howard signed card. To me, this seems rather scarce. The later inserts are plentiful but not, seemingly, the actual 73 card and Franks autograph. But, now I have one and he shall be set free to join his other cards in my Frank Howard binder. Cheers, Butch

Not particularly expensive, and he's far from a Hall of Famer, but he did pitch in parts of 25 seasons, throw over 3,800 innings (just outside the top 50 all time) and throw one mean knuckleball!
He also finished his career with exactly 216 wins and 216 losses, which I found interesting. ![]() Vintage Spotlight: The Best Rookie And Star Cards From 1973 Topps

Man, he pitched for my Rangers for years. Loved watching him throw. Not overly fast speed on his pitches, but I'm glad I didn't have to catch that. You know it's a good knuckler when you can see the seams when the pitch is in the air.
