I'm taking a bit of poetic licensing here. Only because the Hammer played Pre 1980.

I am happy to have been able to find these commemorative stamps of Hank Aaron.

That is cool. Is it an actual book of stamps or the poster from the Post Office?

Ben,

It is a sheet of 20 stamps on the plate. There are, or were, rolls of Hammer stamps. But I did not pick any of them up.

Cheers,

B.T.

Nice, at our PO they sometimes have posters up to advertise commemorative stamps they have for sale. I have been going to ask about getting one when it is baseball related but always forget while there.

That happened to me with these stamps. I was checking at our PO frequently to see if they had them. Well, one day they did, but I was too early to buy them. So, I made a note to come back.... Never did, and then when I did, of course, they were out of them.

Couple weeks later we are on a road trop to Ely, NV. As we are driving through all the small towns, I'm scoping out post offices, we stop at a couple and on the third attempt SCORE!!

So I got two. That was much more fun to attach to the stamp buy then if I had just gotten them in town.

Nice road trip, Hammer Stamps, and a nice little vacation in Ely. Nv.

Nothing but net....

Maybe it's just me, since I've been collecting for so long, but I keep seeing these cards graded PSA/SGC 5's and 6's, that back in the day would have been sold as Nm/Mt all day long. It makes these cards seem like the obvious type of card to purchase if you want a reasonably priced card with great eye appeal.

Agree - whenever I start looking for key cards as I build older vintage sets, I begin by looking for SGCs 4-6...I will get those all day long. The prices are generally very good, and the conditions, even sometimes at a 4, are generally what I would consider EXMT.
