That post is not "sharing my politics". It's a joke about how these days anything someone doesn't like can be called "woke". If it's not funny to you, that's fine but don't call it something it's not. You just seem to be angry and worked up all the time about nothing

For what it's worth....and to be fair, I'm just a white liberal elitist who sells $5 cards on Ebay and bitches about my health care deductibles every time I go to a doctor...I thought it was hilarious.

It's become the most over-used, poorly used and abused, and least funny word in the English language these last few years. A crutch to get people foaming at the mouth over literally nothing, you could say.

Ah man.....I wish I could have stayed out of this.

Back on topic.

Dudes at 52/52 now. Also I just noticed, he's only been caught stealing 4 times. That's incredible efficiency.

I'll be the first to admit, I've been skeptical of certain aspects of his game and health more times then I can count over the years.

Don't mind I've been proven wrong over and over.

Certainly running away with the MVP in the NL, even as a DH, and might have even contended in the AL against Judge and Witt with what he's doing. 3 real amazing offensive seasons going on at once.

It's baseball. For every Ohtani who sustains and even improves on his early excellence, there's another guy -- probably more than one -- who comes out of the gate headed straight for immortality, then implodes. We've listed these names many times. And sorry, but no, you can't tell the difference until it actually happens. All the countless dollars lost on rookie card speculating attests to that.

Since I was a kid, I've always considered Babe Ruth the greatest baseball player because he was the best hitter and, in his day, the best left-handed pitcher. His won-lost record was 94-46, a .671 percentage. Granted, he was on a team that won 3 World Series from 1915-1918, but still, pretty impressive.

So here's Ohtani, who's average is far below Ruth's, but his power numbers, if he plays as long as the Babe did, may end up similar. Ohtani's pitching record is 38-19, a .667 percentage, entirely with the lowly Angels.

And, this year, so far, 52 steals and been caught just 4 times. In his career, Ruth had more caught stealing than steals.

Imagine Babe Ruth. A pitcher with a 2-1 win/loss ratio, who is also a huge power hitter. Now suppose he could also steal 50+ bases with a 90% efficiency.

Ohtani has a long way tyo go to be in Babe Ruth's league in terms of career accomplishments but will there ever be a baseball player with such an impressive 3-way skill set:

Hitting: Huge impact hitter with at least one 50+ HR season
Pitching: First-rate pitcher, with a .667 winning % for a poor team
Running: Incredible base stealer, both in terms of volume (50+ in a season) and efficiency.

I'd love to see the guy playing shortstop or center field, just to show he can quite literally do everything.

According to baseball-reference.com, Ruth had 123 stolen bases and 116 caught stealing so not quite caught more than successful. Before this season, Ohtani was at 86 steals and 33 caught so still better than Ruth but nothing like what he's doing this year. It will be interesting to see what his stats are for steals next season if he's pitching again. I would expect the steals to go down to around what he has done before this year to help him conserve energy for the mound.

With a season like this the Dodgers would be insane IMO to let him pitch and risk another major injury. Go out and buy a #2/3 starter which is basically, if you look at all the stats, what Ohtani is. Way too risky with an elite bat like his.

He is 100% going to pitch again. Roberts said there's chance he might even do it in the playoffs this year.

I agree. No telling what his numbers will end up, but my point is, Ohtani has incredible athletic ability to hit, pitch, and run, which is a combination never before seen. It's like if Mays could also go 16-8 as a pitcher.

It's pretty obviously your political perspective (and piggybacking on the subject of this thread that is a fantasy lie), which you share in these threads all the time. If you think politics shouldn't be here, then don't put it here yourself. It's pretty strange hypocrisy to try and have it both ways. Do you feel conservative political memes are not political because they are also jokes?

I must concede negative posting when people tell complete, absolute lies. Not a fan of lying.
