Mark, Markakis was one of my favorite Orioles for a few years. He was a great player.

Day 239 – 27 August 2024
I recently was looking at my advertisements and found this one featuring who I think is Brooks Robinson from 1972 (see bottom left). The advertisement is from Kraft featuring their candy with an offering for MLB and NHL team patches. The patch is 2 inches. For a dollar and 2 empty candy bags you would receive 5 patches. You could also get a jacket for $4.50.

Day 240 – 28 August 2024
This All Star Photo I believe is from 1971 based on Munson (#15) and Lolich (Detroit) in the photo. Brooks Robinson and Harmon Killebrew are also in the photo. I am not sure who the Red Sox player in the middle is but am thinking it is Luis Aparicio. Could be the Red Sox pitcher Siebert. Anyway, this is a very nice photo of two HoF (Brooks and Harmon) and two pretty good players (Munson and Lolich). If that is Aparicio, he was an amazing HoF player, too. Back to the photo, it looks like everyone is following Brooks (ha!). It looks like the game ended with the AL winning and everyone is congratulating Lolich as the pitcher winning the game.

Default Baltimore Orioles Memorial Stadium Upper 5 Section Sign

241 – 29 August 2024
I know many of you like the old Memorial Stadium Signs. This is one of my favorites that I may have shown before. The sign measures 4 feet by 21 inches. It is from the “Upper 5 Section.” It has a very large Brooks Robinson autograph. I put a 1966 AL Champions / WS pennant on it. This one is amazing and takes up a lot of space.

I really like the Memorial Stadium signs and especially if it has the #5 on it. The large Brooksie autograph on the piece looks very nice as well.

Default Brooks Robinson and Cal Ripken Advertisement

Day 242 – 30 August 2024
Here is a nice advertisement featuring Cal Ripken and Brooks Robinson. It is an advertisement from a Baltimore Sun Vending Machine for a free Player Posters. It measures 17 x 11 inches. Never seen the poster.

Yes, this picture is after the final out from the 1971 All Star Game. Johnny Bench popped out as Brooks made the final play catching the ball on the mound, and then he tosses the ball to Lolich. One of the most fantastic All Star Games with 10 Hall of Famers in the starting lineup, and 10 other Hall of Famers on the bench, for a total of 20 (22 if you include the managers). All the scoring was done on Home Runs from 6 different Hall of Famers.

Here is my recap of the broadcast (and the commercials):

Thanks for the feedback on the 1971 AS game last out picture. The colored pictures, too. I especially enjoyed your link about the game. Thanks!

Default Baltimore Orioles “Get Nasty” sign

Day 248 – 5 September 2024
Not sure about this sign measuring 13 x 10 inches. The sign is two sided and says “Get Nasty” on one side and the other saying Clobber Cleveland. My guess is this is from 1997 during the Play Offs in 1997. I guess the fan would wave during the game. Anyone know exactly?

Today marks the 29th anniversary of Cal Ripken Jr. tying Lou Gehrig's consecutive game streak at 2130 games....

Recently I acquired the scoresheet that the Official Scorer of that game personally kept that evening:
