I've been working on a Jersey City Skeeters prewar team collection for years and have been able to obtain just about all the obtainable cards out there, but still needed this 1909 Colgan's Chip of Abstein. I've been looking for one for years and just never saw one come up. I've posted in the BST here a few times over the years and never got a response.

Well, a couple months ago I tried it again and a board member reached out and said he had one that he would let go. Then I took a break from cards for a while (I didn't plan on it, just got really busy at work and sometimes just take a break for no real reason) and completely forgot that he and I had started talking about the Abstein. Then, when I came back to my cards and Net54, I remembered we had a conversation going and I reached back out to him letting him know I was still interested. He was kind enough to continue with our deal even though I basically ghosted him in the middle of it. And I am now the proud new owner of this baby! This was definitely the longest time a deal has taken me to seal (all my fault of course) but I want to shout out a huge Thank You to gentleman who put up with me and sold this to me. You're awesome man!

This completes my Colgan's Jersey City team set as well.

Thanks so much Phil! I was very excited to finish the Colgan's with this last one. Here are the cards I know of that I still need for the Jersey City team collection.

1889 N173 Old Judge Cabinets
Joe Gerhardt

1889 N172 Old Judge (these are all 1889 team change variations)
Joe Gerhardt, Bill Holbert, Tom O'Rourke

1909 D380-1 Clement Bros
Butler (wearing Jersey City uniform in image)

1912 E254 Red Borders
Hanford, Waller

1912-13 T215 Pirate Back
Billy Purtell

1913 E270 Tin Tops
Hanford (May not exist), Kelly, , Knight, Manser, Purtell, Viebahn

1915 T214 Victory Cigarettes
Wiltse

So you can see why I consider this Colgan's to be the last attainable card that I needed.

Here is John Titus, sans his expensive T206 mustache. An added bonus to this T205 card is that the Hassan 30 back was previously unverified for Titus. If indeed it has not been verified before, well, here it is.

Picked up my first Diamond Stars card. It’s got a little scuff of some kind but otherwise in nice shape.

Nice card...looks like a partially erased number. One of the fun aspects of Diamond Stars cards are the backgrounds. This one of Bonura has the cool theme of picking out some lumber.

I resized the front to enhance its awesomeness, and then couldn't resist going nutty with resizing, creating a staircase of Bonuras.

Just got this guy in the mail! Pretty cool shelf sitter! Also the first Exhibit I’ve ever owned. Nice a crisp for a 1 price, as it has some glue on the back. Being glued up sure keeps those corners sharp.

Enjoy the weekend,
Bob

Yeah I’ll have to look at that more closely.

I looked at it again under magnification. It definitely looks like some kind of print anomaly and not an erasure. The surface is as smooth as the rest of the card.
