This happened to me somewhat recently. I don't dabble much in modern but do pick up the occasional David Ortiz card for my son's collection that I've been building for him since he was born. Forgot to hit the decimal and bid $8546 instead of $85.46. Thankfully it was early enough and the seller cancelled my bid after I asked. I then bid what I meant to bid and lost out by about $30.

I read about it now, I didn't know the auction was pulled afterwards.

I will look to see if I still have any emails from back then about it.
