That's one reason why PSA is the arbiter of their Grade Guarantee. They determine whether or not they have to pay out.
The only way this changes is to take them to court and show the before and after images, but I think you have to do it in their jurisdiction. Or you could go scorched Earth and torment them on social media, in which case they'll still make you file a suit against them, but they'll also restrict you from your PSA account or the ability to submit cards to them again. So they couldn't detect the trimming or the recoloring? That's your industry leader, folks!
