P.S. How did that card get a 10 with that centering??
It's no worse than 60/40 so fits the criteria for a 10.

Somewhere along the way, the flip became the commodity.

For $26,395 dollars or so less, I would be willing to settle for this example,

fleer1986jeffmalone.jpg

especially because this is not Moses, but Jeff. I would be willing to spend $25,000+ more for a comparable condition 1986 Fleer Moses Malone, like the one shown below.

The VCP average for a PSA 9 Jeff Malone is $181.09.

That 10 flip is worth 146x more than a 9 flip.

Oh and by the way, you can almost buy two PSA 9 Jordans for that price.

They should start grading flips. They are more important than the cards to many.

As to the question. Silly question . 99.9% of this forum wouldn't take the new card.

It all depends on what you collect. In this forum most would take the Jackson or the Cobb. On a PSA basketball forum most might take the '86 Malone. I don't really collect Cobb, Jackson ad backs, especially with scarlet letters, or men's basketball so I'll take a 4th choice--the cash.

Not everyone buys cards due to their love of the cards -- some buy for investment purposes only. I own Philip Morris stock, now known as Altria, after a name change. I don't smoke but I am all for solid investments, and the stock has done really well for me. The buyer of a Jeff Malone PSA 10 card may very well be in the same boat as I am with Altria. It's somewhat pukeworthy to me as I collect for love of the cards only, but maybe he's just buying what he sees as a potentially good investment? And he feels in his investment horizon the Malone will do better than the other two cards.

For the most part, that's the only way any sane person could rationalize spending that kind of money on the Malone card ahead of the Cobb or Jackson above. Unless he's a Registry guy and then it's sad, because who the hell wants to spend that much money on a common for their registry?

Edited to add: I already own two of those Cobbs, so I'd take the Jackson first. Possibly.
