Some more T201 miscuts. The other side of the Joe Lake is printed properly, oddly enough. Mecca's other issued sets are cut pretty well and difficult to find miscut, but this was certainly a more complicated production. The Lake/Wallace oddity is one of my favorite pre-war cards.

I think I'd take the E94-like McGraw! I love the cards where it's something of a mystery of what they even are, a piece of a puzzle to which we have no picture of it completed. Thankfully in boxing land, those kind of unique cards only cost me $50 or so. Much easier on my wallet

The best miscuts are those that provide new evidentiary material to learn from. This T218-1 miscut was a surprising find that showed at least some sheets had cards printed upside down relative to other rows. A strange choice. This sheet was probably printed at Brett Lithography. As far as I am aware, it is still the only upside down cut of any T218. I had expected there were 2 sheets of 25 unique subjects in a block printing format, with a separate adjunct sheet with only Jack Johnson's on it.

Couple of miscut fronts that show both horizontal and vertical orientation on the same sheet
and a couple of back miscuts: one showing the same horizontal/vertical layout, and parts of 5 backs... and one not in the same sheet location, though multiples of Reulbach with a miscut like this are known. |
