Mark, maybe you know…were the Brooks clips worn by everyone ate the banquet? How many are out there is the question. The glove might clean up a little; not much to work with. Ha. Thanks for sharing that awesome photo.

Day 45 – 15 February 2024
Another unique display from the early 1970s is from Brandpower, Inc. advertising a trophy personally autographed by a player of your choice. The display is blue with red and white letters advertising “All Star Personally Autographed Baseballs.” This display must have been a regional thing with the Orioles. Six Orioles are shown (Blair, Belanger, Grich, Palmer, May and Brooksie) with an example of the autographed ball in its display. I am not sure what the price for the ball was. In total, a kid could order 30 different players. See the picture of the mail in sheet with players. I have heard different people talk about these balls but have never personally seen one. Would be cool to find the Brooks ball and display it with this advertisement. |

Day 46 – 16 February 2024
In 1971 Rawlings created a red, white and blue glove honoring two of the leagues greatest glovemen – Brooks Robinson and Roberto Clemente. This World Series Special glove was signed by both players. Rawlings celebrated both players for the amazing performances during the 1970 and 1971 World Series where each player won the WS MVP. At the time, between these two playes they had 23 Gold Gloves. My glove is in ok condition but it is 50 plus years old. The glove came in a nice box featuring the two MVPs. Sadly, I do not have the box but depicted below is an advertisement of the glove along with my glove. If anyone has the box and ready to part with it, keep me in mind. |

Day 47 – 17 February 2024
Today is another unique piece from my collection. The 1968 Creative Creations marble blister pack featuring 20 different player marbles. The marbles are sealed in the packaging and feature a picture and signature of the player. The packaging mentions 24 series but only 6 different packs were made. The pack has a Series Number and Brooks is on Series 3 (middle row, second from right). I have 5 of the 6 Series packs; I am missing Series 2. The packaging includes a great assortment of colors and makes a wonderful display. The back of the pack shows different player signatures. This pack has a sticker on it for .99 cents. Below, you will see the Series 3 pack, a cutout from a pack of Brooks and the actual marble. I would love to see PSA grade the small card that I have cutout below but I am fairly certain they will not. No judgment…I did not damage a package to get the cutout of Brooks. |

Charlie,
Your red, white and blue glove looks pretty nice. I kinda gave up on the box; is pretty nice if you can pick one up one day. Love the ‘68 Creative Creations marbles package. The cutout and the marble is of course neat as well. |

I agree on the box. Trying to find Brooks items is one thing but Brooks and Clemente is impossible. I know a gu that has one. He loaned it to a Clemente Museum. I love the Creative Creations packag. Just need the one to finish the entire set. The small piece is unique. Too bad I can’t grade it like the small lis or top on the 1969 Transogram boxes. Thanks for commenting.

I'm afraid I don't have the Brooks Robinson autograph, but I do have the Mark Belanger autograph so you can see what the display looked like. |

Thanks for sharing. Belanger is a tough auto. I have a regular ball signed by him but not from the mail in. Very nice.

Day 62 - 3 March 2024
Today I am showing another set of Staff Advisory Photos (bottom two) and the 1964-66 Rawlings Premium Photos (top two). The staff advisory black and white photo is the only one I have ever seen. I sent this to PSA for grading and was able to add it to the PSA Brooks Robinson Master Set. It is the same photo as the 1964-66 Rawlings Premium Photo shown above it but in color. The 1964-66 Rawlings Premium Photos color photos are part of a 12 player set of photos Rawlings published in 1964-66. My Brooks copies are the highest graded. The Rawlings Premium set includes the two Brooks photos and Ken Boyer (2 different photos / with Mets and Cardinals), Mickey Mantle (2 different photos with and without a black t-shirt), Tommy Davis, Dick Groat, Warren Spahn, Tom Thresh, Bill White, and Billy Williams. Many of the photos are part of the Big 8 Glove Rawlings Box or Hand Cut Cards, which I will show on another day. The Mantle Photos are harder to find and pretty expensive. |

Day 63 - 4 March 2024
Today I am showing another Brooks Robinson Staff Advisory Photo. The Staff Advisory Photo is with Brooks Robinson throwing. This staff advisory is pretty rare. I added this one to the PSA Master Set a few years ago thinking it might be a a 1 of 1. This one is the highest graded. I have a second copy ungraded. Considered having it graded but it has a mark on the back. |

The B&W Rawlings Premium photo is the only one I've seen as well; so that makes two Rawlings premiums that you have that I've only seen ONE example. It's strange that there has to be more out there, but it seems like some of these photos are in very limited quantity while others are fairly common.

I can only assume the clips were made for the 1965 Rawlings Sporting Goods Fair held in NY. We see Brooks and Boyer wearing one and likely a lot of the others in attendance had them or were available to them. I've seen a few in the past, but not in large numbers.
