Nice mention of the Willy Mays catch ,
Would like to have a seat with a nice side angle view .
- being a Cardinal fan The double hitter Stan Musial hit five home runs .
And here’s a crazy fact (new to me) - The next player to hit five home runs in a doubleheader was Nate Colbert - an eight year old Colbert was in attendance at Musials Double hitter

I would have loved to be at:

Lou Gehrig's luckiest man speech
July 4, 1905 to watch Rube Waddell battle Cy Young in dual 20 inning complete games.
Carl Hubbell at the 1934 All Star game
Satchell Paige pitching for the A's in 1965 at 58 years old
Babe Ruth hitting his final three home runs on May 25, 1935

It's surprising how so many people mentioned perfect games, no-hitters and pitching duels. Although it would be great to say you were there for a historic accomplishment, to me it means missing out on a huge part of a game, seeing those old time players smashing the ball. Different strokes, I guess.

In no particular order:

Jackie's debut in '47
Slaughter's Mad Dash in '46
Fisk's homer in '75
Thomson's homer in '51
Owen's passed ball in '41

Default my top five

1. 1908 the Merkle game.
2. Last game of the 1912 World Series.
3. Cobb spikes Wagner - or not - in the 1909 World Series.
4. 1908 -Joss perfect game in the last days of the greatest pennant race ever.
He only threw 74 pitches to beat Ed Walsh.
5. Walter Johnson pitching to Ty Cobb for the first time in 1907.

Great thread! Here's mine:

1) Closest seat to the batter's box to watch Ruth's called shot in the '32 World series
2) Larsen's perfect game
3) Vander Meer's 2nd no-hitter
4) 1975 World Series game 6 which made me a Reds fan
5) Any Ted Williams home run game (fave player that I never saw play live)

Runner up: If you could get me to the closest point where he made "the catch" then it would be the 1954 Mays World Series catch

Default Any game

that shows Sam Thompson in RF wearing a glove. Joe Gonsowski found an obscure newspaper reference that is convincing, but we still do not know definitively whether Thompson was right handed or left handed.

1. Snodgrass Muff in 1912 WS - (I'd take this one over Merkle).
2. 1919 WS Game 1.
3. Ruth's called shot 1932 Gm 3
4. Thomson's Shot Heard 'round the world - I'd also send a note down to the dugout to not pitch Branca.
5. 1955 WS Game 7
