Definitely on my honorable mention list which is about 10 deep!

First of all, amazing thread. Thanks for kicking off a great discussion.

In addition to the nominations already made, I'll add one more:

- October 2, 1908: Addie Joss out-duels Ed Walsh, throws perfect game
Two of the best pitchers of their era, and the 2 leading ERAs of all-time, battling each other in a game that actually had some playoff importance to Cleveland.

• SABR Write up
Box score from the game
John Thorn's take on the perfect game

And now some photos/cards...

Default 5 baseball events in the past

Definitely a great topic. A few of mine are duplicates, here it goes:

1) A weekend series circa 1887, when overflow fans would stand in fair
play in the outfield as the game happened

2) A 1919 WS game

3) Johny Vander Meer back to back no-hitters

4) Roberto hit 3000

5) a 1930s "Tour of Japan" game

1 - Ruth's called shot in the '32 Series. The most speculated about moment in baseball history. I NEED TO KNOW!
2 - Larson's Perfecto in the '56 Series.
3 - May 26, 1959 Braves vs. Pirates. Harvey Haddix pitches a 12 inning Perfect Game and somehow loses. The tension building throughout that game must have been unbearable!
4 - Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. I'd sit near the Yankee dugout and SCREAM to Joe Torre not to move his infield in.
5 - My son's MLB debut. No, this hasn't happened yet but I'm bending the rules just a bit

1. Game 6 of the 2013 World Series - oh wait, I was at that one.

2. Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS - oh wait, I was at that one.

3. Game 6 of the 1975 World Series.

4. Game 7 of the 1955 World Series.

5. That All Star game where Ted Williams hit the dinger of the Rip Sewell Eephus pitch.

In no particular order:

1. Yankees game in 1927 where both Gehrig & Ruth his HR's (not picky which one)
2. Aug. 15th, 1916 - Babe Ruth out duels Walter Johnson at Fenway (1-0) - might stick around afterwards and get some autographs
3. 1909 World Series - game 7
4. 1991 World Series - Twins game 6 (over game 7)
5. Jackie Robinson's first game
