Great pickups Mike and Jim. I love the Braves pennants from the 40s/50s.

Did anyone see the Satchel Paige that completed at Heritage last night?

Default New Content Alert: The Reproduction Co.

I'm happy to announce that this Friday, on Pennant Fever, I'll finally be posting some new material. This month, we'll take a close look at one of the most significant pennant makers of the 20th century: The Reproduction Co., of New York City. I know we've talked about them a bit on this thread, but, up until now, very little was known about the people behind the company; and, equally important: their story.

And, I promise you: it's a good story. Sex. Betrayal. Murder. Well, maybe not all three. But it's a story unlike any other maker we've covered before. So, look for that on Pennant Fever this Black Friday.

In the meantime, I just posted some new content over on Pennant Factory to help get you through the short week ahead. There, right now, you can read all about this pennant....

Very much looking forward to both reads, Kyle. This purple guy is Reproduction Co., is it not? Coincidentally, I bid on it and it closed Friday night at Lelands. I didn’t think the hammer price was too outrageous but it was more than I’ll spend on a pennant….probably because, as Bocca told me also on Friday, I’m “cheap.”

I said you had a reputation for being cheap. That’s totally different. How much did the NY Giants sell for?

I only bid in order to keep getting the Lelands catalogs. I knew I had no shot!

Great picture. It seems as if the white is cloth and the orange and the black are felt. Are there any counter-examples?

Rob: That purple guy is indeed a beauty; and, yes, it's one of many early 1910-era professional baseball pennants by Repco known to exist. I promise, you'll see a few more on Friday.

What did it go for??

I was one of the underbidders on that Giants pennant. It's fantastic. The price was fair but like Rob, I couldn't bring myself to go that high.

There's been some amazing pennants for sale lately. I just need everyone to go offline and let me pick some of them up at a good price.

Kyle, I'm looking forward to the new content on your site.

That Paige is amazing. You know, when I started adding pennants to the list of things I collect, I considered only buying pennants of my team (Yankees) but there are so many beautiful vintage pennants out there and they can sell for big money so I just decided to grab anything vintage if it’s at the right price.

I was fortunate to get this. Was very much on the fence but I thought it was especially cool given the green felt and the Jackie pennant I already have in green. Now gotta find a Doby and the incredibly rare Luke Easter.

(BTW, Heritage ships pennants as if they are shipping a Picasso … it took about 15 minutes just to open! Tip of the cap to them.)

Congrats Greg. Great pickup. It looks great next to Jackie. The 2 Monarchs teammates back together again.

Thanks, guys. I’d love to know if WGN made any others besides these two and Doby and Easter.

Rob and I just got back from the Houston Tristar show and I was able to buy this very rare Houston Colts pennant from Rick H. I usually avoid pennants with tassel damage, but this one is so rare that I got it anyway. I've never seen it for sale and had only seen a picture of it one other time.

I've posted a pic of the the more common version below the new pickup (although all Colts pennants seem rare)
