Not 100% sure but I believe they don’t fit inside their largest holder. The Delahanty was probably trimmed down to where it would fit, hence the “A” grade.

At that price point for the M101-1, I might have instead opted for the National Copper Plate that’s potentially a year older and has been sitting on eBay for years now. Listed for $75,000 as a BIN o/b/o. I would imagine that there is a good chance that $50K would do it. Looks very clean to me as well. I don’t know the seller personally but not sure how much faith I would have spending that kind of money there.

Not easy getting Washington into this thread, but I do have the Dutchman at the 1933 World Series.

You’re on a roll, adding that one to your trove? It’s a stunner for sure.

You’re right, Kevin. I wasn’t looking at the NCP when I posted that so wasn’t aware that the date was printed on it. Memory isn’t as good as it used to be.

Phil - Why do you think that the National Copper Plate Wagner could potentially be a year older than the M101-1? The title states “Louisville, 1899” on it.

The M101-1 was definitely included with the August 19,1899 issue of The Sporting News.
