Understood. It does say “ends at 9:00pm” in the listing just for the record, not 9:01. But like I said I’m glad you’re getting the better price, most likely just my not being used to the auctions here that I read it like I did. I would have bid higher though had i not thought i had won.

The last bid registered on lot #5 was at 9:00, not 9:01...it says $170.

The last line of his listing says "AUCTION ENDS AT 9:00,.....9:01 is too late".....so you have 60 seconds to get your bids in if you are waiting right at 9:00......

This website doesn't register seconds.....it registers minutes. If the timestamp says 9:00...it is technically 9:00......your post after the $170 listing clearly says 9:01.

I hope the auction end-time has been clarified.


if two bids are time-stamped at 9:00, and they are the same amount, I would say the one listed in the thread first would be the winner.


However, if two bids are time-stamped at 9:00 and one is a higher amount, that bid wins.



I apologize if this wasn't clear enough...thought I had it down to a 'semi' fine art. LOL

I will contact the winning bidders directing their payments.

I really hate to keep beating a dead horse since you won and I lost. I'm not arguing that, I'm happy you got the card and the seller gets a better price. However if an eBay auction ends at 9, if you bid one second past 9:00:00 you do not win. That's how timed auctions with actual enforced ending times work. I simply thought that's how this worked. The bid at $170 was technically placed after 9pm. I understand he complicated the rules by saying 9:01 was too late, which apparently implied that he would take bids until 9:01, but that's in conflict with the statement prior to that which stated the auction ends at 9:00pm. I feel like Don Mattingly arguing with Burns here :-)

I didn’t say 9:01. I said if it shows as 9:00 then it’s after 9:00:00, you’re missing my point. I’m just a sticker for details that’s all. When clock clicks over from 8:59:59, that should be the end. Anyway no more nitpicking from me, owner is the referee!
