The Philly show is proud to be one of the oldest running sports card shows in the country starting back in 1975 at the Old George Washington Motor Lodge. We have an outstanding selection of sports card dealers that carry cards from the 1800's to present day, graded and ungraded, shiny and not shiny, autographed and not autographed. Please come by and check out the awesome displays !
Joe : Yes the Philly show dates back to 1975 but The GW motor lodge was not the original site. Spring Garden College was the site for the first 2 years. This is a postcard given away at the first show. Thank you for carrying on the tradition The "Philly Show has always been on of my favorite shows to both set up at and attend. |

Joe,
Thanks for offering to let Net54 members attend on Sunday for free. We greatly appreciate it. I'll be there for at least one of the days this weekend. Looking forward to the show, as always. - Eric

It's a great show. Last few times I went I really enjoyed it. Some people who don't do the NY shows.
I just wished they had kept it at the casino. Some of us degenerate card collectors moonlight as degenerate gamblers. |

The Casino is a short 10 minute drive - I stay there every show. As a time to time gambler myself, I get really good room rates!

Are there the same number of dealers as there were when the show was in the casino ?

More dealers I believe.
We are accepting last minute consignments for our upcoming pre war auction. We are strong in T205 and T206, looking more for Gum cards, Caramel Cards, and less prominent tobacco cards, plus memorabilia like programs, tickets, autographs, boxing, etc.

Had a great time at the show yesterday. Got a great deal on the Cobb silk from a dealer who had 90% modern cards. Also met Chris Sewall (BBCID) who was very cool and down to earth. Hope the rest of the show goes well

I went to the show on Friday (wanted to go before the storm). I spent about 2 hours there. Pickups include a nice group of T206 upgrades, 49 Bowmans, and some nicer 50s Topps baseball. I was also above to snag a vintage non sports collection from a patron.
Initial thoughts from the show: 1. Show was very well attended. Saw a lot of collectors and a good amount of kids. 2. Raw sells . Dealers with raw seemed to be doing well. Graded items were mostly Sky high prices and not moving. 3. Modern dealers on phones the whole time. 4. Funniest overhead statement. Dealer to a patron - “VCP? I don’t care what VCP says. The price is the price!” Philly show never disappoints. |

I decided to attend on Friday and got there shortly after the doors opened.
I never paid the "sneak peek" early access price before; however, might start doing so on a regular basis. I've done the elbow-to-elbow-crowd thing before...it's highly overrated. About halfway through my aisle-by-aisle scouting trip, I came across a table with a decent selection of Post-war vintage. The dealer (a guy named Paul Borges from Newport, RI) and I struck up a conversation and wound up making a deal on this 1956 Topps Willie Mays. Good guy, easy-going, and the price was right at recent comps. I also picked up Kaline and Spahn at the show; a total of 3 more HOFers for my '56 Topps set. ![]()
