Out of the two I'd vote "Bob". Note the same ridge-line at the back of the ear drum.
Definitely not Lefty. Also, hard to tell without having it in hand and feeling the paper, but I'd question if that was even a Type 1. The borders have definitely been trimmed down based on how perfect they are. That in itself is not something photo collectors generally care about, but it gets it down to a size that's generally more accepted for that time period, and hides any clues along the edges of the photo of it being a later printing. Brown Bros., rarely took their own photos, so a stamp from them doesn't mean a whole lot to me. Just that it's old, but not necessarily what we consider "Type I" today. |
