Like all things with photos, also depends on the subject, quality otherwise, importance.

I had a Jackie photo that was cut down a great deal from a somewhat famous photo . . . still was valuabe in its own right. But, then again, was a fraction of the value of the original 8 by 10.

Yeah I have seen some photos trimmed down to 7.5 x 9.5 from the original 8x10. They look clean and nice but coming from the card market where this is absolutely a no go I was curious on what it does to value in the type 1 market. Thanks for the response. You guys have been helpful.

It's more accepted than in the card world because so many photos have been trimmed down by the newspaper or magazine when they were used for publishing.

That said, I do think clearly untrimmed and standard sized photos should carry a premium.

That makes complete sense. Definitely helps me gauge how accepted a trimmed down type 1 photo is vs a vintage card where it is completely frowned upon to alter in anyway. I am 100% with you. Standard sized photos that haven't been touched definitely carry a premium in my book. Thanks for the response.
