Yes.

Sports Collectors Digest (SCD) was considered a reputable and accurate service. It has the red logo on the silver label. Sometime after Digest stopped its grading service, a new "SCD" appeared......Sports Cards Direct. Sports Card Direct used a similar silver label but with blue logo. Sports Card Direct = POS.

Similar thing happened with GAI. The original GAI was considered, generally, to be a reputable and accurate grader. Friends of mine had picked up old GAI card and successfully crossed them over to PSA and SGC. The original GAI had the silver label with the G in the little globe. At some point GAI, essentially, went out of business and the folks that remained, phoenixed GAI into Global Authority.....which became a flaming tire.
