Hey guys,
So far, we have only 23 different T206 subjects on display with PIEDMONT 460 Factory #42 backs in this thread. I expected at least 36 of the known 72 subjects with this rare back would have been posted. So, come on guys, let us put on a show here and post more of them. These elusive T206's add a certain amount of "sophistication" to our T-card collections. Especially some of the tougher ones (such as the above T206 Tinker). TED Z T206 Reference . |

Can you name these two Major Leaguers, who had their moment of "greatness" approx. 50 years apart ?
Should be easy......if not, I will provide some more hints. TED Z T206 Reference . |

Hi Ted - Are Frank Smith the players you are looking for?

This is a stretch because I am matching a first name to a last name but...
In 1910, Sherry Magee had his best season, leading the league in R, RBI, BA, OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+, TB, and WAR (most, but not all, of these categories were also career bests). In 1959, Larry Sherry was the World Series MVP, going 2-0 for the Dodgers with an 0.71 ERA and saving the two games he did not win (he did not start a game but finished every game the Dodgers won). I am not sure if these names "coincide" enough to be the answer Ted is looking for...if not, I will keep looking. Edited to add: it turns out Sherry is not a "1950's Topps guy" since his first card was in 1960. So I will try again tomorrow.

Not the players I am looking for. Continue your search, and I'll bet one you will get the right answer. Thanks, TED Z T206 Reference . |
