I have always loved Lowdermilk's "I can't believe I'm going to be on a Baseball card" expression ...............

[Full Disclosure: I paid a "tad" more than 180.00 for it ]

............ and a nice array of backs ...............

-1910 E221 Bishop & Co. San Francisco team card-

I think I've hit the bottom of the West Coast rabbit hole with this one.

I was planning on sending the Nunzio Brothers to Leon's Vault and strong arm him to sell me one from his hoard, fortunately an act of violence in the name of card collecting was averted and a Member sold me this one.

Damn Philly, those are two very cool pick ups! Congrats on the Lewis source photo. That one must have special meaning to you as well.

Phil, congrats on the fantastic pickups of the Lewis photo used for his T212 card and the E221 San Fran team card. You must be stoked! Am very happy for you.

Thanks Andy, Val, and Ryan.
The E221 is very rare, there might be no more than 12-15 examples that exist, Leon has 4, there's an uncut sheet, a Blue Oakland, and this one that I'm aware of. I'm sure there's a few more out there but not too many. The SF team is popular since it includes Buck Weaver, I think this is the only SF Red example known. Fun Stuff!

Thanks Ryan, Phil, and TKD.

And Yes Ryan I had a plan. To stay within my budget and yet enhance my Ruth and Jackson’s. So 1 1913 National Game Jackson, A 1928 Harrington Ice cream Ruth, The Stag Sweater Team Photo With Ruth, and an autographed Ruth Baseball Card.

Sad to give up what I did but pumped up for what I got. Joys and pitfalls of collecting sometimes we have to move things we do not want to inorder to get other things

Hey Jeff,

It's a beautiful Ruth signature too. Very clean and just how I like them with the B in Babe nice and big and the R in Ruth having the great over reaching and swooping top loop that isn't all tight. It looks like he signed this one on a flat surface like a table or desk and really took his time to make it look good.

I believe Ruth was very proud of his signature and tried to make it a nice clean example when he could and this shows that. I wish more players these days would follow that example as today's kids sign like crap for the most part.

I got the opportunity to purchase most of a 1954 Topps set. I had the key missing players, so a nice completion.

Thinks Dean and Andrew.

I was focusing more on the Autograph for the playing Day card. I Love the Look of this autograph also. Was very fortunate to add this to my Ruth Run

Just got in the mail today the card on the left - N48 Virginia Brights (Type 1) Stealing Second.

Though it's in low grade, I'm excited as this means that I now have 2, so that makes it a collection!

Default Brooks Gordon & George Yantz T210-3 Red Borders

Thrilled to add a Brooks Gordon (Waco) T210-3 Red Border card and a T210-3 George Yantz (San Antonio) T210-3 Red Border.

I now have a very nice matched pair of T210-3 George Yantz cards, both the Oranger Border and the Red Border variations.

Default Two more off the list

Eric had purchased several cards from Scott when he was selling off the 975 Howe-stamped card lot from Goldin last year. He found replacements for these two and offered to part with them.

This gets me down to 127 cards short of a complete Howe-stamped T206 set (no Polar Bears as the family store didn’t sell Polar Bear). Of those 127, only 36 exist as far as my research has shown. But who knows what may show up next.

Thanks to everyone for the heads-up when you see one.

I'm extremely excited to have picked up this E220 Type 2 with a reverse back (printing reads from bottom to top). Some/many of you may be thinking, "It sure doesn't take much to excite ol' Val." The reason I'm so excited is that I've been working on a master set of Sam Rice's cards for several years, and I've reached the point where pickups are few and far between. Many thanks to Jeff T. for making this card available and to Luke L. for pointing me to Jeff.

Chris, I confess that I thought of you and your B/S/T post as I was acquiring this Joe Judge Big Head. Just come up with any Sam Rice card I need, and we'll work out a deal to get Judge into your collection. However, the same doesn't apply to my Big Head card of Rice.

Jeff - Great PC770 ALPC postcard of Cobb. One of the best postcards in the hobby IMHO.

Many thanks to Jeff T. for making this card available and to Luke L. for pointing me to Jeff.
Killer pickups, Val. Congratulations!

Another troublemaker joins the gang .
Not a big deal but this was my first Net54 purchase !
An underrated card of an underrated player (batter up Rip)
Needless to say Brian Van Horn makes for an easy deal .

Picked up a couple neat old baseball photos recently. No idea what teams the guys might have played on but don't really care either. I just like them.

1910 Pamphlet from The Baseball Magazine offering an 8% dividend to investors at $10 a share. Explains a plan to raise money to increase distribution and quality of the magazine that started in 1908. It’s on glossy paper with a few totally cool pictures including the 2 below.
