Homage or coincidence? 1974 Dave Kingman

That's pretty cool. Is there by chance another one in the set that's similar to Steve Garvey's 1974 card? Due to it being his MVP year card, it sadly gets more acclaim than the Kong does.

Sadly? It's a pretty decent card and Garvey, whether he deserved it or not, was MVP that year and went on to have a pretty good career.
I am admittedly biased and I still like Kingman, but I'd take the Garvey over the Kingman every time. Kingman had another nice card in 77, but I'd take the 77 Garvey again over the Kignman in that set too.

LOL I almost posted about that one too because it's got a similar vibe to the Kingman.

I'd die if they paid homage to Kent Tekulve's '88 Fleer card.

Oh, and the Kingman and Flores are different numbers. I'm naive about modern but I am guessing there are fewer than 600 cards in Heritage base.

Sometimes its a card number, sometimes it's a pose, sometimes it's both but they always try to mimic something from the original set.
