I believe yes. Same with Plank. All Wagners and Planks with Piedmont backs were not issued in packs and should have the A designation, including PSA’s first graded card (has there ever been a more perfectly ironic start to a business?).

Notwithstanding my statement above, there is this SGC graded plank, with (the artist formerly known as) Goodwin Auction’s write up about an SGC numerically graded Plank. My gut is SGC made the same mistake as PSA did with the Gretzky Wagner, meaning all “experts” potentially make mistakes; the true difference between the two is we absolutely know the Wagner was cut from a sheet, bc the cutter admitted it, whereas, I am not sure we know where/how the SGC plank came to be.

Ryan, Bill Mastro admitted to trimming the Wagner which he claimed had larger than normal borders, I don't think anyone ever admitted cutting it from a sheet.
