Very nice Bates proof Chris! I just love blank back proofs with the printer's marks.

Default Fan Craze

I began down the rabbit hole of pre-war vintage a couple of years ago and I don't think I will ever get back to modern. I find the world of early cards, in particular pre-33 Goudey, incredibly fascinating....the strip cards, food product cards, game cards, exhibit cards, etc. etc.

I recently discovered Fan Craze. I absolutely love this set/game cards...the images of these greats are so striking, and the cards are so much more affordable then even their later cards, i.e. T206s.

This was hardly a “stop the presses” acquisition, and was a wee bit cheaper than every other card in this thread, but I picked it up as an interesting oddity. It is likely the only anonymous player in the 1921 set.

Recently picked up this exhibits Simmons card. Very happy with it. I am just trying to gauge when it was manufactured. I read the very informative write up on these exhibits cards on this forum. If I understood it correctly, the cards in the first run were blank backs and the last runs had the language that the cards were not to be used in the exhibits machines along with the made in the USA language. Also, if I understood correctly, the age range is more like 1925-31. So this Simmons would likely be from the tail end of the date range? 1929-31?
