Roberto Clemente cards have spiked in recent years as well. His rookie card shot up in price only relatively recently. The same is true for Jackie Robinson, who was pretty cheap really until the pandemic hit.

Whoops, Joe D wouldn't be dead ball. Not sure I can think of a dead ball surge other than for cards that are collectible outside of the skill of the player: Shag T206, Titus T206, etc.

Maybe Grover Cleveland Alexander? For a guy who was so dominant most of his cards are pretty cheap with the exception of the CJ and Fatima.
