Good afternoon,
I was recently able to acquire some Orioles ground crew passes from 1969-1974 (the 1973 pass is laminated). Included was a pass to the 1969 ALCS and World Series. Orioles Play Offs Grounds Crew Passes.jpg 1969 Orioles Play Offs Grounds Crew Pass.jpg |

Dick Hall, a pitcher on both the 1966 and 1970 Orioles WS Champions, passed away yesterday at 92. A few years ago he was kind enough to sign a card for me through the mail.

Those are very cool. I don't know if the name Linda Warehime means anything to you but she was easily the most recognizable name on the Grounds Crew during that time period (1968-75). She was well known for sweeping the bases and occasionally swatting an umpire or visiting team third base coach playfully on the rear once she completed her duties. Anyone else collect the aisle markers?
Found another two Memorial Stadium (Orioles) aisle markers (#10 and #3) yesterday. Before and after shown below. I have 12 different numbers now. The #5 and #33 eludes me. I am always looking for more. Last edited by Chstrite; 06-24-2023 at 03:20 PM. |

Hi guys,
I haven't posted much stuff lately, because I've been dealing with my mom's estate, but wanted to share a couple items I've picked up recently. Many of you know that I really enjoy collecting programs, especially older programs of Orioles minor league affiliates. I've was able to pick up a new Orioles World Series program and get one program closer to my minor league goal of a program from every Orioles affiliate since 1954. The first program is a 1983 World Series program printed by the Quad-City Times from Davenport, Iowa. I had never seen it before and my best guess is the newspaper was following the Orioles closely because O's pitcher Mike Boddicker is an Iowa native. 1983 World Series Program (Quad-City Times) 1983 World Series (Quad City Times).JPG The second program is another one of my holy grails. I hate to use that term, but since I'm averaging about one new minor league program a year from those obscure teams, this is a program from a franchise I never expected to find. In 1955, one of the Orioles class C affiliates was the Thetford Mines Mineurs from Thetford Mines, Quebec, Canada. In fact, Thetford Mines was an O's affiliate in 1954-1955. The team played in the Provincial League that fielded 6 teams. The Mineurs finished the season 42-88 and in last place. The team averaged 547 fans per game, so programs (or anything from the team) are pretty scarce. Barney Lutz was the manager. Here's the program and two players from the team, Ray Barker and Al Nagel. Barker ended up playing 5 games for the Orioles in 1960. He's the only player from the team to reach the majors. 1955 Thetford Mines Mineurs program 1955 Thetford Mines Mineurs.JPG Ray Barker and Al Nagel Barker, Ray 1.jpg Nagel, Al 1.jpg |

I recently picked this up from Goodwill, but I'm coming up empty on my attempts to learn more about it. The bag itself is heavy duty, but has absolutely no markings or tags on the inside. The logo is similar to Orioles logos from the mid-1950s, but not exact. If this is a homemade job then someone did a great job applying the decal. You guys have amazing collections, so I'm hoping someone might be able to offer a little insight into this item. Thanks!

ironically, your garment bag reminded me of an equipment bag that is on eBay currently sourced from the collection of Tom Chism who played in their system in the mid to late 1970's (which included a brief appearance with the MLB club in '79)...Curious what geographic area did you pick this up from?
