I've given thought to modifying a flipping floor poster display for this. Seems like it would not be outlandishly difficult to change inserts to a cut plexi that you can see both sides.

If you're on a tight budget, check this out...

My new CardViewzer X-3800™ has its limitations (namely, that only one of your guests can operate the device at a time), but it is a game changer!! Talk about the absolute ease* of seeing both sides of each and every card you own...NOTHING on the market surpasses it!!!

Justin, I really like your idea. I recall seeing something similar to this 20-25 years ago, either at a card shop or at a show. IIRC, the contraption I saw was made of wood, and each display section held approx. 25-35 cards. Both sides of the cards in each display section were visible by flipping the display sections over.

Val, you're not the only one that remembers that. I know I've seen something similar at shows and not that long ago.
