What is a "Hustler" back in the T206 ?

Hustler was long believed to be a rare T206 back, but I don't think anyone today believes they ever actually existed. The Hustler advertising was used for non-baseball subjects.

Yeah Hustler T206 was essentially an Urban Legend for 50+ years. They are an uncommon T59 Flags of All Nation brand but never confirmed on any T206 (obviously)

This is a Walt Corson index card list from the 1950s-60s. I believe this might be exactly where this myth started. As most know, Corson was one of the big, all time great collectors, back in the day.

I wonder how frustrated he was trying to find a Hustler or Ty Cobb Back.

Quite frustrated, I am sure.
For some interesting, and informative, hobby reading here is a great thread concerning him. Seems he was back with Burdick in the 1940s, helping with the ACC and other hobby things.
