The $350,000 estimate for a raw Jordan was a bit over the top. 😂😂😂

You think it would have cheapened the bit, if they had shown the other 2 to 3 Jordans that Drake should have also pulled from that box?

Drake ended up pulling 3 regular Jordans and 3 stickers. It was actually a pretty cool event to watch, and I don’t usually watch these things.

I know we have some Maryland guys here so many they can assist.

The “Robbies” in this show are from the former ABC show Ball Boys which ran for a year about 10 years ago.

These guys have a “shop” in Lutherville that also doubles as a shipping depot. I say doubles but it’s more shipping depot than card store unless something has changed recently.

I’ve never heard of these guys (outside of TV), never seen them locally at any shows/events etc…yet they’re played out as some big shots in the industry.

Am I just not in hanging in the right circles over the last 30 years in the Baltimore area or are these Robbies actually some well known guys in the industry?

I can really relate to Drake, must have been enlightening. Maybe next week he can burn 100k in barrel and post it on tik tak

There is no world in which a princess Di beanie baby is worth $1500. To perpetuate that myth is just wrong. The show is sleazy. And I agree with Denny, the treatment of some of his consignors whether or not for dramatic purposes or not is just wrong.

If you want to watch something fun and a lot more wholesome regarding the hobby watch the YouTube show “Chasing Cardboard” which actually does focus on sports cards. The production quality is top notch for a YouTube show.

This thing is obviously highly produced for entertainment value. It is highly entertaining. I really enjoyed it. If you take it with a grain of salt, I think you will enjoy it too.

I was passing by a TV last night, as a family member said, hey, did you know that this sports collectible show was on Netflix?, as it played in the background. I said, yeah, I heard it was gonna be on, but didn't pay attention to the air date. As I heard Ken's voice, all I could hear in my head was him talking about his nine figure bank account. So I stood there for a few minutes as they were talking about a Jackie Robinson Jersey for ten million and Ken talking about the bidders in the auction, and knowing all of them well enough that he knew it wouldn't go to ten million. I'm like, did he just say he could see who all the bidders were and how much each of them bid on the auction?? That's when I seen enough, and went on with my night.

I won't watch and haven't generally don't watch any similar shows on TV, whether Pawn Stars or anyone else.

1. The little bits I have seen of this genre are all fake as hell and the silly dramas they gin up are just ridiculous.

2. It's all just promotional BS for whoever the stars are.

3. Many times they are way way way off on valuation.

Antique Roadshow is a decent watch but even they are ridiculous sometimes on prices. "It's worth between $85 and $100,000." Sure. Try to sell it and report back. I'll wait.

But I got sucked into all the collectibles as I get sucked into watching other shows like American Pickers waiting to see what they find.
It was also very much feels liked this was timed with some of their auctions like as this is starting to air on Netflix the Dream Team Auction starts

My wife put this on while we were watching tv together thinking she was being nice. I appreciate the gesture of course, but found it off-putting for the same reasons.

The prices were astronomically inflated to excite the unknowing. When the auction took place I thought the Robinson jersey was a marketing gimmick and should not have been included. Seeing the behind the scenes of promising an impossible amount to an absolute dreamer was nuts. The amount he did get was still insane and just due to the timing of that auction.

Also, please forgive me to the east coasters that don't notice this, I can't stand the cast of Jersey Shore that works for him. I wouldn't buy a used car from those voices and it's soured me completely on taking the company seriously. Get some people with some actual subject matter expertise and don't look like they drive an IROC with a tracksuit to work every day.

Watched episode 1 until Ken and daughter have talk about "pulling out". I would rather watch Ashley Gold get assaulted on Hardcore Pawn.
